A smile is truly infectious. Katrina and Gordon held their wedding on the most romantic day of the year – Valentine’s Day, and although the weather was gorgeous with the lovely, warm sun shining, what stood out the most was Katrina’s beautiful smile that lit up the room. You could really sense the joy and love in the atmosphere just by looking at the bride’s genuine smile!

The ceremony in the morning to the banquet at night were all held at Hong Kong Parkview, which saves a lot of travelling time as well. Although I do not come to this location often, it is truly a remarkably comfortable and beautiful location for a lovely wedding! On Katrina and Gordon’s big day, the peaceful atmosphere was complemented with the soft warm sunshine that penetrated the room during sunset, and it was my goal to capture this comfortable, warm atmosphere in every one of my pictures.

Another memorable thing that day that I noticed was the close relationship between the bride and her family. As a father myself, I really understand how a father would feel when he sees his daughter off into marriage. It really is a mission for me to capture these touching moments so that they could relive this moment in the years to come.  As Gordon is a musician, he composed a song for the parents of both of himself and Katrina, which they performed on stage at the dinner banquet. This thoughtful gesture of love and respect truly touched the hearts of all of us present!

Last but not least, I wish this pair of newlyweds all the best in their exciting future!

I feel really grateful that many couples in the past place a lot of trust in me and have always supported me and my work. Cecilia and Ivan are one of these couples. I still remember the first time they came to my studio to take a look at my work. Cecilia told me that she had been looking for a wedding photographer for a long time, and that she was so glad that she finally found a photographer that she really liked. She particularly liked how my pictures captured the happiness and warmth of each wedding in a natural, comfortable way.

Time flies, and it’s already Cecilia and Ivan’s wedding day. Even though it was a rushed day, from picking up the bride in the morning to getting to the church and finally preparing for the reception at night, it was clear how much this loving couple enjoyed and had fun on their big day.

Even though I’ve photographed so many weddings, every one of the weddings I work at bring me great excitement and satisfaction. There were so many moments that touched and warmed my heart that day, such as when Cecilia’s father was watching her daughter get married, or when I felt how much her family missed her when she was leaving their home. All these beautiful relationships and special moments are what I treasure the most, as they contribute to the unique story and meaning behind every wedding, and I hope to capture and bring this out in each of my photographs.

Finding our perfect wedding day photographer was one of the most important parts of our wedding planning. We wanted every special moment of the day captured in the perfect way so that every time we look back at our wedding photos, we could relive one of the happiest memories of our lives once again.

We did quite a bit of research on wedding day photographers and spent several weekends just going through portfolios of different photographers and meeting them in person. When we viewed Patrick’s portfolio, we knew he was the one. Patrick’s style is simple yet classy. All his photos have a natural elegance to them and we are very grateful to have him as our wedding day photographer. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Patrick and his team again for their professionalism and quality work!

Thanks for the guest post by Renee & Gary.

When Gary and I first started planning our HK wedding, my number one focus was to find the perfect photographer that would fit within our budget. Living in Los Angeles, all of the research was done online, and it got overwhelming at one point. I knew exactly the style I wanted, while my hubby was 100% supportive, and when I found Patrick’s website, I knew he was “it” after looking through a few of the photo sessions and videos. I love the way he captures the candid moments of the special day, and how natural all the brides and grooms look in his photos.

Patrick was the only photographer we met with when we went back to HK to finalize all the wedding details, as I was certain he would be the perfect fit – and thank god I was right! Patrick is very pleasant, accomodating, always has a smile on his face, and is always patient with all our questions. I felt completely at ease after our initial meeting and knew we would be in good hands. On the day of the wedding, Patrick and his team arrived and got to work right away. Every member of his team was such a pleasure to work with, not to mention entertaining :). When we looked back at all the pictures, there were moments we didn’t even realize were captured, thanks to Patrick’s speedy picture-taking skills.

As for the same day edit video, it was important to me that the music meant something to us instead of a random song, and Patrick said he would try his best to use one of the songs from my list. When we played the same day edit at the wedding banquet and the background song was the #1 choice I requested, I almost wanted to give him a hug if he wasn’t so far away! He was also able to send us the picture highlights in less than two months so we could share them with our guests at our Los Angeles wedding, which says a lot about his work ethic. Thank you again to Patrick and his team for turning our memories into precious art that we can always go back to and relive!

Thank you!!! Wish you and your team all the best and more success to come.

Love,
Renee & Gary

Stephanie and Jason live and work in the UK, and they plan to have a lovely summer wedding there this year. However, they decided to come back to Hong Kong to take some engagement photographs, and I’m glad they discovered me through their friend’s recommendation and after looking at my work on my website. After a few emails, we confirmed the time and finally came the day of the shoot. Since they want to leave the wedding gown for their wedding this summer, Stephanie decided to wear a lovely cocktail dress and a gorgeous red qipao for the shoot.

Even though Hong Kong is developing and changing by the second, there are certain parts of Hong Kong that still preserve the nostalgic feeling of the olden days, such as in Central and Sheung Wan. Since the couple is a great fan of the retro Chinese feeling of olden day Hong Kong, we decided to go to Wing Lee Street in Sheung Wan and even some temples for the shoot. It was indeed great fun exploring these places with Stephanie and Jason. In the evening, we took pictures with the beautiful Victoria Harbour as the backdrop. This is a signature of Hong Kong, and the view of the glorious lights and skyscrapers certainly never gets old!

We are very happy that Patrick is our engagement photographer. We lived aboard and have painfully browsed through many HK photographers online. Patrick was our first choice – we wanted photos that are natural and timeless (no heavy photoshopping!), thoughtfully capture emotions and display technical skills. We also wanted to have a balanced mix of scenery pictures to showcase the traditional elements of HK that we are fond of. I m glad to have come across Patrick! We exchanged a few emails, phone conversations and had a face to face meeting to plan the theme and logistics of the day.

Patrick was very patient and listened to our needs. He understood our vision quickly, and his photos clearly exceeded our expectations. They will make an excellent addition the our wedding album – I can’t help looking at the photos again and again!

Patrick is a very professional and competent photographer and it was a great pleasure to work with him.

It is a classic romance story when a pair of friends who grew up together end up spending the rest of their lives with each other as husband and wife. Ulrike and David are the main characters of this beautiful story – they met each other since young when they were studying together in Canada, and now they finally decided to tie the knot!

Even though the couple grew up under Western influence, they still preserved their Chinese roots by having a traditional Chinese ceremony in the morning. Red is the colour typically symbolic of joy and good fortune in Chinese culture, and the bright colours used in Chinese wedding traditions really bring out the feeling of happiness and celebrations in the pictures.

Ulrike and David then had a luxurious wedding banquet at Four Seasons Hotel, with family and friends who came back from overseas to celebrate this momentous event. While traditional Chinese wedding outfits bring on a unique, oriental flavour, there is nothing more elegant and romantic than a bride in a gorgeous white wedding gown. Ulrike is no exception, and together with David looking smart in his tuxedo, we certainly took some beautiful pictures that day! I wish them all the best in the future!
