Gloria & Tommy’s Prewedding at Kawagoe (川越)

It’s been a while since updating my blog as I have headed into the peak of wedding job’s season.  In the meantime, you can also catch up with me on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/patrick.weddingphotographer

Finally, now with a little breathier, I am pleased to share our team’s latest overseas wedding assignment with the lovely cheerful Gloria and her other half.  Away with a charming couples being the foremost ingredients, we began yet another successful wedding photography journey.

Obviously, Tokyo was the most wanted location of this trip.  However, we have also discovered a new location called Kawagoe (川越) which is only half an hour train journey from Ikebukuro (池袋).  Kawagoe (川越) was a beautiful place full of traditional Japanese style buildings.  With very few tourists around, we all spent a peaceful afternoon at this wonderful location also called ”Little Kyoto” (小京都)!

Including myself and three other team members, we also managed to produce a behind the scenes of the pre-wedding photo shoot.  Stay tuned with us for sharing their video soon.  For now, please enjoy a selection of photographs from our amazing journey.

Kelly & Ken’s Wedding

“Love is more than a noun – it is a verb; it is more than a feeling – it is caring, sharing, helping, sacrificing.” – William Arthur Ward

I have always been a big fan of my job, but this wedding job is one that I most appreciated recently. This is because the couple was so caring! During the wedding, I can see that they not only care about their family and friends, but even the working crew and the photographers. Weddings are all about love, and it is from the care that people show each other which helps us truly experience this warm feeling of love. It is definitely touching to feel the warm and loving atmosphere of the ceremony!

More importantly, I can see and feel that the couple has placed their complete trust on us. This is one of the most crucial things in achieving a successful photo shoot – that is to have mutual trust. As long as the couple believes in us, we will take care of the rest and do our best to capture their special moments.

Let’s check out the pictures from Kelly and Ken’s big day!

Kelly & Ken didn’t have any pre-wedding pictures, so they wanted to take some wedding portraits even though we were running out of the time after the church ceremony. Luckily, we made it again despite the time constraints! More importantly, they both love the pictures very much!

Janet & Louis’s Wedding

I still remember that Janet is a very cheerful girl – she was always smiling during her big day. From her sweet smile, one can easily tell how blissful she is!

Many couples have cold feet before their wedding because they are afraid of how the wedding would turn out. After all, wedding ceremonies are complex and require a lot of planning!  Some couples are also worried about how the wedding pictures will turn out, and think they may need to pose in order to get a nice picture. This is why I always tell my clients that it is not necessary for them to worry about how to perform or pretend in front of the camera – all you have to do is enjoy your big day! If you trust your photographer, he will deal with the rest to capture the most beautiful moment for you.

Enough with the talking, check out the following pictures to see how Janet and Louis are enjoying themselves at their wedding!

Another happy moment where Louis voiced out his declaration of love to Janet. An interesting shot – the wedding couple walking along the busy street to the church!Wow! Guess who would be the lucky girl getting the bouquet? We had a short portrait-taking session before heading to the hotel. The staircase of Four Seasons Hotel – this has always been my favourite place to take gorgeous wedding pictures! What a big surprise! Louis prepared 99 roses for Janet! So sweet!
