Carrie . Ben’s Wedding

Carrie and Ben’s wedding is one of my recent favourites. We were able to show each and every bit of the glamour and elegance of the ceremony, and overcome different challenges. The wedding service was a massive one – we’ve got nearly 30 people for the bridal party alone! It’s not exactly easy to make the many guests pose for photos after photos, but we managed to coordinate well with our three photographers and made a truthful, memorable record of the extravagant wedding.

Ceremony: Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Wedding Reception: Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

1, 2, 3…there were nearly 30 people in this bridal party assembly. Of course, you can always put people in rows and take the group photo in the most traditional approach, but I found this horizontal array a much more enchanting way to present all those lovely and happy faces. I quickly located these nice benches next to the hotel’s pool for the nice visual effects they could bring to the picture. It took a couple of minutes to arrange the groomsmen and bridesmaids’ posture and position, but the outcome was gorgeous and worth the effort.

I love this photo. The lighting of the venue created an exquisite ambience, which took some skills to manage for the sparkling shot. Having learnt that the couple will march in spotlit, I decided to take this entry photo from an unusual spot – an audio control room one level above the ballroom! Capturing the gleaming moment from height gave unique elevation to the shot. And to do this you have to be well-planned beforehand– otherwise you simply won’t have enough time to grasp that perfect instant!
