Today I come to you all with great news – I have been awarded a membership at the prestigious Wedding Photojournalist Association! The WPJA is an international professional organization for wedding photographers that celebrates the photojournalistic approach in wedding photography. This approach emphasizes a documentary style in photo taking, and involves taking candid pictures as opposed to the planned and posed approach. I have always preferred capturing candid moments because they best express the emotions of the bride and the groom, and they can relive the happy story of their wedding by looking back at the pictures.
To be qualified, photographers must meet the high selection standards of the WPJA, and they cannot pay to become a member! I am honoured to be given a membership at WPJA and to have my work recognized internationally, especially since there are only very few Hong Kong members. Becoming a member is definitely one of the most important moments of my photography career, and I hope to share my joy with all of you!
