Ruby . Joerg’s Wedding@American Club Hong Kong

Ruby and Joerg’s big day was a memorable event for me as it was a beautiful cross-cultural wedding, with Ruby being from Hong Kong and Joerg from Germany.

Usually, more focus is put on the bride on a wedding day, as it is commonly said to be the day where the bride looks the most beautiful in her life. Naturally, I also tend to snap more pictures of the bride than of the groom. However this time, I must say that even I was somehow attracted to Joerg, the tall and handsome groom! Apart from his appearance, what also impressed me was what a true gentleman he is – he is sincere, polite and caring, and I can totally understand how a girl like Ruby can fall under his spell! Therefore it is no surprise that this time, I actually took more pictures of Joerg than I expected, as you can see in the pictures below.

Ruby and Joerg followed a romantic wedding tradition that not many people do nowadays – the groom did not get to meet the bride until she walked down the aisle at the church. This is why during the morning of the ceremony, my crew and I divided into two groups to take care of Ruby and Joerg separately.

Even though the wedding ceremony at the church was a simple one, it still had a romantic charm of its own. The newlyweds also had a simple banquet at night that was not extravagant, but was beautiful and heartwarming nonetheless. In particular, you could really feel how the families of the bride and groom come together and become one big family, even though they come from different countries and cultures. It is truly touching to see how love can break all cultural and geographical barriers.

Ruby and Joerg will be returning to Germany soon for another wedding ceremony, and I wish them every happiness in their bright future together!
